The starting point
In the winter of 2022-2023, Fabric+ carried out Ageing in the Arctic, a study that aimed to find out how ageing is actually experienced in the Arctic city of Bodø, Northern Norway. The publication of the related Insights Report in 2023, led us into meeting various stakeholders - experts, public offices, private sectors and end users alike - who generously shared with us their time and insights on our project. This experience paved the realization that our experiences in Bodø is not limited, and are shared among the similar region. As this field remains to be further explored, Fabric+ sees this as an opportunity to investigate the experiences in the Arctic region and other winter cities.
Collaboration across the key stakeholders in the field and the region
The field of ageing is extremely multidisciplinary, with stakeholders ranging from the health sector, economics, transport, and technology to name a few. In this vein, common language has been challenging to establish, and similarly, collaboration is less than it should be. As both Fabric+ and Center for Public Health in Greenland recognize this issue, we made it a point to include network activation among the key subject stakeholders as one of our main goal in this Project.
